Indian Army can take care of the border…. Can we take care of what ‘Army’ is?

From the icy terrain of the Himalayas to the scorching heat of deserts, they guard us as their family all day and night without complaining. They don’t fight for their own self, instead fight for the nation. What is a lifetime adventure for us is a daily routine for them.

Either I will come back after hoisting the tricolor or I’ll come back wrapped in it , but I’ll be back for sure… — Capt.Vikram

We live in a society relentlessly chasing the next thrill, where being bored is the ultimate sin. Just sitting around and relaxing is actually a luxury to be enjoyed for them.

Serving in the Army is not a job. It cannot be a job. Army officers are well qualified to get any top-ranking job in the world. But working in the Army is about love. It’s a passion. They do it for the pride and honor of your country.

Life in the armed forces isn’t like any other. When you’re protecting your country’s borders 16,000 feet above sea level at a temperature of -50 degrees at the Siachen Glacier, it can’t be just another job, right? It’s not easy to be so selfless and that’s exactly what makes these ordinary men extraordinary. Not only men…We have extraordinary women too!!

Now, consider the children of soldiers who are disturbed every two years because of their father’s postings. We need to appreciate that a soldier’s child, by definition, has a single-parent upbringing, deprived of her father’s presence for 10 months a year during her entire childhood. Why can’t schools appreciate these constraints and provide some leeway to them during admissions? Or take pride in providing guaranteed seats to them?

A nation of 1.2 billion people cannot outsource patriotism to 1.2 million soldiers. If we genuinely want to support and strengthen our Armed Forces, let us begin by assuring the soldier who goes to safeguard our frontiers that he doesn’t have to worry also about watching his back.

If we can’t do any of this, why can’t we just thank our soldiers for their service to the country? Not just when there is an India-China issue or the Pulwama attack remind us of them, but as an ongoing gesture, whenever we come across them in our routine lives. Just a dignified conversation, asking them about their postings, their challenges, and, even if we can’t help them, just acknowledging their service.

Life in the armed forces isn’t easy. It’s a new challenge every day. And the challenge isn’t just from the enemy but from nature too. They are far away from their loved ones, fighting for life every single day. But it’s the spirit of these men and their undying love for India, that keeps them going.

It’s this indomitable spirit that’s worth a thousand salutes.

Even when a soldier dies, his mother, his father, his wife, his daughter, and the entire nation, feels proud of him….that’s the potential of this profession...

This is my view On the Indian Army….Hope this brings in us a sense of pride and concern towards the nation!
